An Expensive Christmas
No, not because we spent a lot on presents for a certain toddler (which we did). No, our Christmas had a much more dangerous aspect.
Christmas day, and Kim is cooking dinner for us. She's using every inch of her counters, and all her appliances. She gets done washing her food processor, and needs to get it out of the sink. She places the top (with the tube where food goes in) in a Pyrex 9 x 13 pan on the stove which she believes is cool.
Nope. It's hot. Really hot. So hot, that it melts the top of her food processor.
BOOM!
The glass pan explodes into pieces, big and small. Most stay on the oven, some fall onto the floor. It's amazing, but neither of us are cut or burned. Someone was watching out for us, as we were both barefoot, and Charlie was taking a nap.
However, the floor was not as lucky. We have berber carpet in the kitchen, and the hot Pyrex melts the carpet where it landed.
I didn't do it. This is melted carpet, not puppy piddle.
So, now we have to replace the flooring in the kitchen. So, it's off to Lowes, and a purchase of Pergo Laminate. Hopefully, it won't be that hard to install, and should give the house a bit more buyer appeal. However, it's just another project I didn't need.
