A few quick photos

Charlie loves his new bedroom. When he saw it for the first time,
he proclaimed, "What a surprise!"

My Co-Workers

Here is a photo of the A&A Fraud Detection Team, on an outing to Magic Kingdom. They're a great bunch of people. (The guy in costume was our tour guide for our "Keys to the Kingdom" tour we took that day).

Home Alone

Today is Sunday, and it's my 3rd day home alone. Kim and Charlie flew back to KC to visit with Grandma, Grandpa, and friends. I stayed in Orlando, as airfare was still a bit pricey, and I have things to do. Mainly, I've been painting Charlie's room, so that he will have a big boy room. We chose Buzz Lightyear colors from Disney Paints, and it's a bit slow going. I had to prime the entire room, then put on two coats of paint of blue (seems the color isn't the best for concealing). Next will be some painting of trim (both green and a lighter blue), and finally, buying, transporting and assembling Charlie's new big boy bed.

After working, while waiting for paint to dry, I've been doing something I don't get to do when Charlie is around. I've gone and seen movies. I saw Wall-E and The Dark Knight (EDIT: That's two different films. Although, thinking about it, that might be a good sequel!?!?). Both excellent movies. I was surprized how many people were in the theaters for each showing, as these movies had been out for quite some time.

Today, it's taping and trimming, and then lawn mowing, and then off to IKEA for Charlie's bed. A full day.

Needless to say, it's also quite lonely without my wife and son. But they come home tomorrow night, and I'm sure they are having fun. I know that Grandma is spoiling Charlie to no end, and that he's loving it. They have a special bond that I want him to experience as much as possible. It was the only downside to our move to Orlando . . . seperating Charlie from Grandma. But, we make the best of it.

Enough typing. . . .back to painting.

Wee Wow Wee Woo Wahcka Doo Wahcka Doo

So, Charlie has been singing something for the past few weeks. He gets the sweetest grin on his face, and with tons of joy, starts singing, "Wee Wow, Wee Woo, Wahcka Doo, Wahcka Doo!"

We figured this must be some song he learned in daycare. Whenever we sang it back to him, he told us we weren't singing it right.

So, today, when I took him to daycare, he started singing it when he got in the classroom. I asked his teacher, Ms. Maria, what song it was from. She said, "I have no idea. It's nothing we sing. But, he sings it alot, and now has all the other kids singing it too!".

After much thought, I finally figured it out. It's "We Will, We Will Rock You!" from Queen. Now, where he heard that, I don't know. But it sure fits what he is singing. And he sure loves singing it.

This weekend, I was doing yard work, clearing some overgrown shrubs in the back yard. Charlie wanted to help, so I had him out with me. He turned out to be the best helper. When I would cut a branch, or palm frond, he would immediately pick it up and put it in the wheelbarrow. When I cut the palm that had thorns on it, he told me, "It hurts", but figured out how to carry it without poking himself.

Then, it got hot, and I told him we should go inside and get some water. He said, "No, want to finish", and proceeded to pick up the for palm fronds that were still on the ground, and put them in the wheelbarrow. I was so proud of him. And, he proudly proclaimed, "I'm a good helper!"

Next Time, Please Hire An Actor

The first time I saw this "CBS Cares" video during NCIS, I thought, "This must be a joke video."

Nope, apparently, this guy is for real.

Now tell me, who would let this guy anywhere near their prostrate? And is his finger
stuck permanently in that position?

"IN A WORLD WHERE PETE AND RANDY ARE SADDENED"

Don LaFontaine, the voiceover king, has passed away. I blogged about him back several years ago.

Pete and I used to have a lot of fun pretending we had that kind of powerful voice. We each got to do the voice in Monkey's sketches in the past.

The best way I've heard Don's voice described is, "When you die, the voice you hear in Heaven is not Don’s. It’s God trying to sound like Don. "
