Light At The End Of The Tunnel

I received a call that Disney is going to check my references and education. They called Derek, who sits next to me at work.

So, maybe this will happen.

The Waiting Is The Hardest Part

Friday, January 12, 2007

Now, it's just a waiting game

My trip to Orlando seemed to go very well. I interviewed with 7 different people that day. It was exhausting, especially because I got to Orlando at 10:40 p.m., to the hotel at 11:30 p.m., in bed at 1:00 a.m., and then up at 6:00 a.m.

I really liked the people, and it was very cool to be in the Team Disney building. Also, talking with the new director of the area I would be working in, and finding out she used to work for Matt Ouimet, who is one of the Disney people I truly admire.

So, now it's all about do they want me, and can they pay enough to make it worth moving.

Come On! Big

No

In Memory of the Peechee

Last week, at Comedycity rehersal, a suggestion was asked for regarding something you had in childhood. I brought up Peechee folder. Linda knew what it was, but I think we were about the only two who did.

Doing some research, it seems that they are no longer made, and that they might have been regional.

But, each year, I started out with new Peechee folders for school, and by the end of the year, they were obliterated with doodles and notes.

Soon, I ditched the Peechee in favor of the much cooler Trapper Keeper. But, it was never the same.

On My Way!

I'm on my way to WDW for my 6 interviews! I'll be at Orlando airport at 10:40 p.m., and then drive to WDW, check in, iron my clothes, off to bed (hopefully by 1:00 a.m.) and then up at 6:30, shower, dress and drive to casting center for 8:00 a.m. first interview.

Oye! And, I've got a cold (thanks to my little one).

But, here's hoping!

Swimming with a Stingray

Corey and Mo, friends of ours living in Chicago, are going on a cruise, and the discussion of shore excursions came up. They are deciding whether or not to go to Stingray City, a reef in the middle of the ocean where the stingrays are very docile and gentle.

Another friend, Tracy wanted to see the picture we took there, so here it is.

Someone Else Gets It.

Last night, my wife commented that if it weren't for Charlie and his personality, she would not have made it through her busy time at work. I knew instantly what she means. Charlie's personality is really blooming. He's a funny little guy. He loves to laugh, and even more, loves to make us laugh. He's become very affectionate, and extremely bonded to us.

Last night, we spent about 45 minutes playing "Visitor at the door". Charlie was in his room, and would shut his door. We would knock, he would open the door, and react like he hadn't seen us in years, saying "Hi" and hugging us both. Then, he'd say "Bye Bye", and shut the door, and it would all start over again.

For those without kids, this must sound extremely boring. But, for me and Kim, it was the best part of our day. The squeals, smiles and hugs made up for crappy days at work.

This week, I got an email from my friend, Pete. He told me that he finally got it. He had spent time with his relatives, and played with his great nephew, Naythan. He felt a paternal instinct kick in, and judging from the look on his face in the photo, it kicked hard.

There is truly nothing like being a dad.
